It was Tuesday morning and I decided to take a neighborhood walk. Oh, what a beautiful morning. Though it seemed a bit on the warmer side than the day before, it did have a slight breeze which was nice for walking. All yards have been looking genuinely nice through the "Rona" walk.
I noticed one of the neighbors living the back way towards Covington was removing an exceptionally tall tree as they had big equipment and mulcher there. Some limbs were already being fed through the mulcher, which I felt sad about. It was a nice tree and thinking maybe it had termites, or maybe they just did not want there. Anyway, instead of my normal route and since I did not want to walk back past the tree. I headed towards town through an older neighborhood turning on a side street to get over to the main road back to the house.
As I was walking down the street, I saw something in a tree that was in a yard. The yard looked comfortable with a chair nestled with shrubs and other trees, charming. I kept walking then stopped to back up a few steps to see what was in the tree since I became curious about it. At first glance it looked like a squirrel, but larger.
It was to my surprise and appeared to be a stone bunny. I do plan to go back rechecking this!
Resuming my walk, I started to think of a story.
The Bunny ~
There was a bunny who seemed to be living very contently in a lovely yard. There were delicious things for him to eat while in the cool shade of a warm spring day. The only problem he was afraid. Bunny was very careful of all his steps and other movements. Other bunnies did not seem to be bothered but he was and about everything. He kept hearing things that concerned him, and it was all he thought about. It made life uncomfortable and hard.
One morning a bunch of critters got together and decided they would do something about this. As they approached Bunny one said, "Maybe you would be better somewhere else that you won't be afraid?" He replied, "But, I don't know where that would be." Bunny began to sigh. "I do not want to leave my home and yard; it is so comfortable with plenty."
"How about up high then you would be safe, and you could see everything, another yelled out!" Bunny nodded saying, "Up higher that just might work?" A squirrel close by said, "Maybe the tree?"
So, his friends worked hard to get him there finding a lovely spot. Bunny seemed pleased being able to see and have all his comforts. The only problem he could not do anything. He became more afraid. As time went by, he would not leave his limb. Friends would talk to him and try to coax him down, but he would hear none of it!
As time went by the critters all got about their business and they did not see much of Bunny after that. He made up his mind. As years passed, some would say they can still see him sitting on that limb.
Moral to the story for there has to be. . . .
For God has not given us a spirit of fear but of power and love and self-control [sound mind NKJ] 2 Timothy 1:7 ESV
So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. Isaiah 41:10 NIV
Peace I leave with you; My peace I give you. I do not give you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled; do not be afraid. John 14:27 BSB

What verse can you share that has been blessing you?
BTW I went go back to the house that had the comfortable charming yard to get a picture of the bunny. It was no longer there. :( I still like the story and there's a another moral to add. We all have to start living again and come down from those limbs. :) Peace and blessings to all who read. VB

Of course I had to have a photo and God holds us in His hand just like my son holding this little bunny.
See, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands; your walls are ever before me. Isaiah 49:16 NIV
