What Are You Believing?

It is amazing to me how people seem to rise above trials in their lives that we collectively as a Nation face.  Today you could say the World.  We start recognizing efforts put forth by others that care about people as they work to share words of encouragement hoping to help those going through the various struggles they are facing and are fearful of.  They have always been there to encourage but when things are going "super" people forget.  Much like God's word that inspires us daily getting us through those trials we were told we would be going through.  God has inspired people for thousands of years through His Word, prophets, layman strengthening and encouraging all of us. Though some choose to seek encouragement elsewhere others only seek Him when in a season of hardship as we are seeing today.

I read a verse this morning that stuck in my thoughts, He will not fear bad news; His heart is steadfast, trusting [confidently relying on and believing] in the Lord. Psalms 112:7 AMP

Have you recently been listening to bad news? It seems to me that is all we are hearing and not just over the past few months.  We have been fed daily with heaping portions of it, some even enjoy it and go back for seconds.  You could say at this point many have become like the fatten calf to be slaughtered.  [That just came to me].

I read a little book [in size not in message] that everyone should read.  It was my husbands and I noticed it a couple years back as it caught my attention.  How Do You Kill 11 Million People? Why Truth Matters More Than You Think; by Andy Andrews.  A catchy title don't you think? It was a quick read that stays with you.  What stuck to me was the question and then the answer.  How do you kill eleven million people? Lie to them.

Is that statement sinking in?  Yet through history that has been done and with what seems the same tactics. Of course the 11 million actually plus are holocausts victims.  They believed a lie told by Hitler.  Most of us remember the rest of the story so there is no need to add it here but I would suggest a refresher course while it is available.  I'm not trying to be facetious for history is being rewritten, changed often by those deceptive voices we listen to daily. I am not even saying what people are going through is not what they/you are going.

The Lord is for me; I will not fear; What can mere man do to me? Psalm 118:6 NAS

I have and for years kept a morning routine.  I get up thank the Lord for another day, get a drink of water .  .  .  .  cup of coffee sit quietly pray.   Listen to the word / read and oftentimes listen to Derek Prince, sometimes others.  I want to be prepared for whatever the day might throw at me, and there has been many days that have been almost unbearable.  And, God ALWAYS brought me through bringing me to why I am here today.

I, as many others, have been posting to encourage you out there with good news.  I know what I shared above was shocking, but the point I'm trying to get through is this; We have been told in God's word we will go through various trials, and that we need to be aware of things, seasons etc., but our focus must be on Him.  We need a daily over-heaping portion of Gods word and believe it in our hearts! Not merely hear, but put to action and build up our faith.  I am sure you too have been through unbearable times yourself.  As I was sharing with my son just a bit ago, I know it isn't as simple as turning a light switch on and off, but everyone must start somewhere with a choice.  God is always faithful, some give up to soon and for whatever reason.

Yesterday I listened to a short devotional from Jane Clement, in which she was sharing FEAR NOT.  Jane also shared that fear not was in the Bible 365 times.  I don't know if that is actual count or not, since I did not count myself and with many translations out there.  I will say it has been said a number of times by many people, including Lloyd Ogilvie, a Presbyterian minister who served as Chaplin of the United States Senate 104th through 108th Congresses, in which he added one thing,  "In Facing the Future without Fear" - there are 366 "Fear nots" in the Bible, one for every day of the year, including Leap Year!

Whether it is printed in the Bible 365 times or not the truth remains we can FEAR NOT! me ~

What I do know is what He means in my life and how He has got me through many hardships and trials.  No one is suggesting things will always go well or be easy, but FEAR NOT.   I love the fact that Enoch, walked with God 365 days and then was taken up by God.  He WALKED with God and faithfully the Bible tells us. Enoch even prophesied the "Lord is coming with thousands upon thousands of His holy ones!"  Jude 1:14  Jude is one we don't often read but in verses 17-23 there is a call to persevere.

But you, dear friends, by building yourselves up in your most holy faith and praying in the Holy Spirit, keep yourselves in God's love as you wait for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ to bring you to eternal life. Jude 1:20-21 NIV

This may not be a fatten calf but you can be sure that it is feeding on the same daily.  .  .  . My friends, we have choices everyday God gave us free will.  What would you like to feed on?

Seek God today, give Him praise and trust Him for your outcome ~ And, FEAR NOT.  Perfect LOVE casts out ALL fear.

And so we know and rely on the love God has for us.  God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God and God in them. There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, [in part] 1 John 4:16, 18 NIV
