WHAT'S ON YOUR MIND?

A lot of us who are on Facebook look at "our pages" and start with the question - What is on your mind? Haha  Well our minds are full of many thoughts and concerns.  As if we thought news was bad last year we are now faced with another year of uncertainties and our hearts can feel like they're sinking.

Last year when we first faced this pandemic, having know idea it would consume our very lives as it has, I started writing letters to my church family as I was away. My hope was to send them words of encouragement for what we were experiencing giving hope and sharing from my experiences and what God was sharing with me at the moment as I was lifting all of it up in prayer as I walked the neighborhood of silence and fear others were living.

Since I've been back home, I worked on putting my letters to print form for my family and wanted to share some of me with them specifically it was important that I have my uncle get to know me better, as he only remembered me as in his memories when I was younger.  Sadly, he passed away and not from a virus per say but effects of it, the lock downs, the fear that was peddled by the daily news only feeding the negative.  He became physically ill with infection that set in, but was mentally convinced - deceived as it were, he accepted refusing help and started shutting down like so many people. Depressed lack of appetite and fluids - nutrition, I could go on and on. I am heartbroken ~ He gave up and wanted to go.

I still believe as I do going back often looking over what I wrote whether it is my blog posts or written journals I have, God always comes through with that message of hope. Today I am sharing one of last years letters with everyone it still applies today as we face this year of newer "different" concerns and challenges.  Don't stop lifting you voices and hands up in praise to a mighty God! I pray you find peace and comfort for whatever loss you are grieving - knowing there is a Father in heaven who doesn't slumber not sleep but is actively working out ever detail - He is not surprised by what He is seeing.  Shalom Vicky ~

Good Morning 3/25/2020

Bless the Lord!

Yep it is morning and I can tell you that it is taking me a bit to get moving here and I have not made it out for my walk.  However, be that as it may, the Lord gave me something to share this morning from my walk last night.  It is the song of Moses I think most are familiar with it reading in Revelation 15

“Great and marvelous are you deeds,

Lord God Almighty.

Just and true are your ways,

King of the nations.

Who will not fear you, Lord,

and bring glory to you name?

For you alone are holy.

All nations will come

and worship before you,

for your righteous acts have been revealed.”

NIV

When we lived in Seaside, OR we fellowshipped in a little church that met in an old house on Hwy 101.  For the most part we were all close to the same age with little ones.  The one thing that I can say that always stuck with me was singing scripture.  Nothing can replace this form of worship – speaking, singing - proclaiming God’s very words in song.  Amen

This action has helped me through many tough times.  God’s Word is living!  God’s Word does not return void without doing what He has set it out to do!  Hebrews 4:12, 1 Peter 1:23, Isaiah 55:11

Now getting back to Moses, we all have read or heard of all the trails and miracles that was witnessed by God’s people.  Moses missed out on the promised land, but he shared with Joshua one of many things we can glean from.

“Be strong and courageous, for you shall go with this people into the land which the Lord has sworn to their fathers to give them, and you shall give it to them as an inheritance.  The Lord is the one who goes ahead of you; He will be with you.  He will not fail you or forsake you.  Do not fear or be dismayed.” Duet.31:7-8

And, as I read last night continuing in Deuteronomy 32 the verses are beautiful, I picked out a few we can meditate on.

Listen, you heavens, and I will speak; hear, you earth, the words of my mouth.  Let my teaching fall like rain and my words descend like dew, like showers on new grass, like abundant rain on tender plants. He is the Rock, his works are perfect, and all his ways are just.  A faithful God who does no wrong, upright and just is he.  1-4

The Lord will vindicate his people and relent concerning his servants when he sees their strength is gone and no one is left, slave or free 34 – Rejoice, you nations, with his people, for he will avenge the blood of his servants; he will take vengeance on his enemies and make atonement for his land and people. 43

Bottom line here is simple.  We can place our trust in Him for our lives and wherever we are or will be.  He NEVER changes.  We can see looking through the old testament the prophesies that have been fulfilled even as most recent.  He is continually working out everything - the question is are you/we on board?

I know at this moment you are looking at the possibly of a crash economically and you are concerned.  I understand this more than you know and can tell you – He is our provision!!! He is mine.  Proclaim God’s Word and get it in your very being to where it becomes one with you.  I am always working on this myself. Start believing and speaking.  Take authority over your situation. Lastly, I like this verse:

For which I suffer hardship even to imprisonment as a criminal; but the word of God is not imprisoned. 2 Timothy 2:9 NASB (The NIV uses the word chained for imprisoned).

Though you may feel like prisoners at this moment God’s Word cannot be chained . . . Nothing can take away what God’s Word can do.  Everyone waits for God to do something.  He is waiting on us and has given us the means.  Love you guys.  Remember God’s not dead but ALIVE!! Vicky

Jim was a prisoner in his own body and the pain he lived with daily I never witnessed any of the like. He continued pressing forward in the Lord, trusting Him with his very life and that of those he loved.  A man like any man who made mistakes but knew the forgiveness of God and family ~
The world will not always understand or accept the love the Lord has for them and that maybe how it is. We are to be a light in the darkness and intercede on their behalf; Jim did so and those prayers are still being answered.  VB Added 6/7/20
