Ahhh - Autumn in November ~

November ~

Sometimes you just need a quiet day with a bit of color.

This morning's calm and cool with a beautiful smell of Autumn.

Or is it Fall ~

The leaves are falling and carpeting the ground with color.

Oh, how could you wish for summer back?

It was so hard this year, with Summer's heat and no rain.

My little orchard suffered some and it was a lot of work.

There wasn't any fruit this year.

One Spring freeze took everything out.

Sometimes it's like that ~

But Ahhh - Autumn ~

Preparing for a much-needed rest.

Not just for my little orchard - for me too.

Even the Lord took time to rest.

This is a good spot to take a rest - now where is that chair ~

I planted seeds, and seeds dropped from the birds too.

And God said, "Let the earth sprout vegetation, plants yielding seed, and fruit trees bearing fruit in which is their seed, each according to its kind, on the earth." And it was so. The earth brought forth vegetation, plants yielding seed according to their own kinds, and trees bearing fruit in which is their seed, each according to its kind. And God saw that it was good. And there was evening and there was morning, the third day. Genesis 1:11-13 ESV

Better is a dinner of herbs where love is than a fattened ox and hatred with it, Proverbs 15:17 EVS

Be patient, then, brothers and sisters, until the Lord's coming. See how the farmer waits for the land to yield its valuable crop, patiently waiting for the autumn and spring rains. James 5:7 NIV

And the LORD will guide you continually and satisfy your desire in scorched places and make your bones strong; and you shall be like a watered garden, like a spring of water, whose waters do not fail. Isaiah 58:11 EVS

Your limbs are like an orchard of pomegranates and all the best fruit. It is filled with flowers and nard. It also has saffron, calamus and cinnamon. It is filled with trees of incense, myrrh and aloes- all the best spices. Song of Solomon 4:13-14 ICB

His cheeks [are] as a bed of spices, [as] sweet flowers: his lips [like] lilies, dropping in sweet smelling myrrh. Song of Solomon 5:13 NMVB

I will restore the fortunes of my people Israel, and they shall rebuild the ruined cities and inhabit them; they shall plant vineyards and drink their wine, and they shall make gardens and eat their fruit.  I will plant them on their land, and they shall never again be uprooted out of the land that I have given them," says the LORD your God. Amos 9:14-15 EVS

"And this shall be the sign for you: this year you shall eat what grows of itself, and in the second year what springs from that. Then in the third year sow and reap, and plant vineyards, and eat their fruit." Isaiah 37:30 EVS

One Day and This Day Will Come

"For behold, I create new heavens and a new earth, and the former things shall not be remembered or come to mind. But be glad and rejoice forever in that which I create; for behold, I create Jerusalem to be a joy, and her people to be a gladness. I will rejoice in Jerusalem and be glad in my people; no more shall be heard in it the sound of weeping and the cry of distress. No more shall there be an infant who lives but a few days, for the young man shall die a hundred years old, and the sinner a hundred years old shall be accused. They shall build houses and inhabit them; they shall plant vineyards and eat their fruit."  Isaiah 65:17-21 EVS

The above might not seem like much, and I wished I used my camera, (remember those), but to me this is my little something that I have with the Lord. I pray you also have a place that you can go and work in, rest in and spend time with the Creator.

God's Garden

God made a beauteous garden
With lovely flowers strown,
But one straight, narrow pathway
That was not overgrown.
And to this beauteous garden
He brought mankind to live,
And said: "To you, my children,
These lovely flowers I give.
Prune ye my vines and fig trees,
With care my flowerets tend,
But keep the pathway open
Your home is at the end."

Then came another master,
Who did not love mankind,
And planted on the pathway
Gold flowers for them to find.
And mankind saw the bright flowers,
That, glitt'ring in the sun,
Quite hid the thorns of av'rice
That poison blood and bone;
And far off may wandered,
And when life's night came on,
They still were seeking gold flowers,
Lost, helpless and alone.

O, cease to heed the glamour
That blinds your foolish eyes,
Look upward to the glitter
Of stars in God's clear skies..
Their ways are pure and harmless
And will not lead astry,
Bid aid your erring footsteps
To keep the narrow way
And when the sun shines brightly
Tend flowers that God has given
And keep the pathway open
That leads you on to heaven.
